Learn the art of line etching using copper plates and acid-resistant grounds. This workshop will focus on creating crisp, fine lines and building tone through cross-hatching. Participants will leave with a small edition of hand-printed etchings.
No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
About the Instructor: Daniel (Danny) Cardoso is a Toronto-based printmaker and a 2020 graduate of OCAD University with a BFA. Their work explores large-scale, print-based installations, incorporating visual narratives hidden within patterns. Influenced by Portuguese tilework (“Azulejos”), their research connects historical archives from the Iberian Peninsula with contemporary themes of queerness, mental health, and identity, expanding the possibilities of modern printmaking.
