In 2015, Open Studio was commissioned by the Harold Town Estate to print a suite of seven linocuts created from lino blocks carved by Town before his death in 1990. Town created many ‘Vale Variations’ throughout his artistic practice and in various media, all of which are based upon a small ink drawing by artist Florence Vale, the wife of Albert Franck. The linocuts were originally released as a boxset titled Vale Variations by the Harold Town Estate, and are available individually through Open Studio. 

These prints are editioned as the second of two ‘Open Studio Proofs’ assigned to the Open Studio print archive. They each feature a stamp of Town’s signature. The original numbered edition size of the Vale Variations boxset was 50.
