MOOSE OPERA is a lithograph featuring one of Pachter’s most recognizable motifs – the Canadian moose. Created at Open Studio in 1974, the composition presents two iconic moose as if on stage, highlighted by dramatic areas of spotlight and shadow, and enhanced with expressive mark-making.
This impression is the second of two “Open Studio Proofs” originally held in the Open Studio print archive and is now offered for sale. The original numbered edition comprised 50 prints. The lithograph was produced in collaboration with Don Holman, then Director of Lithography, whose embossed artist chop appears in the bottom-right corner of the paper.
