In 2004, AA Bronson was invited to create a publishing print with Open Studio to be released in a portfolio with the Suzy Lake print The Gardener - both prints are now available separately. The result was the prints Red Hankie #1 and Red Hankie #2, which draw on the handkerchief code, a system of colour-coded communication within the LGBTQ+ community.
