Woodcut
is a relief printmaking technique where an image is carved into the surface of a wooden block. The raised areas are inked and pressed onto paper to produce a print.

Woodblock printing is a broader term that includes woodcut and other techniques involving carving into wood to create prints. Both terms involve creating images from carved wooden surfaces, but "woodblock" can also encompass other related processes.

Mokuhanga printing is a traditional Japanese printing technique using water-based inks, known for its delicate colour layering.
