Collection: Sara Angelucci

Sara Angelucci is a Toronto-based artist working in photography, video, and audio. Her work explores vernacular photographs and films, analyzing the original context in which images are made.

Angelucci's screenprint Spring was printed during Open Studio's AP Sale event in 2015 and was produced in support of FLAP – Toronto’s Fatal Light Awareness Program, an organization dedicated to safeguarding migratory birds in urban environments. It features a photograph of birds catalogued through FLAP's pioneering museum program. Birds are a recurring theme in Angelucci's work. She reminds us that their noble magnificence inspires but is continually threatened both by human interference and human indifference.
