Collection: Quvianaqtuk Pudlat

Quvianaqtuk Pudlat (b. 1962) is the son of Odlureak Pudlat and Ningeosiaq Pudlat, who were both printmaking artists. His grandfather Simeonie Quppapik was a well-known artist, printmaker and typographer. For many years, Pudlat was a respected sculptor and his carvings of animals and birds are in many important collections. His drawings and several of his prints have been included in the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection since 2017.

Pudlat's graphic work has been exhibited at the Inuit Gallery of Vancouver, Feheley Fine Arts in Toronto, and Highpoint Centre for Printmaking in Minneapolis. He was the 2020 Inuit artist-in-residence at Open Studio in Toronto, during which he explored screenprinting for the first time, and produced the prints Playful Foxes I and II.
