Linocut is a relief printing technique where an image is carved into a linoleum block. The artist removes the non-image areas, leaving the raised surfaces to be inked. Ink is applied to the raised areas of the block and then pressed onto paper to create the print. Linocut is valued for its versatility and ability to produce bold, graphic prints with a range of textures. Source: MoMA
