Collection: Lavinia Lindsay

In the mezzotint series Blind Spots, Lavinia Lindsay touches on what it means to value new experiences and places beyond your focal point. Her prints focus on scenes of a drive from Toronto, Ontario, to Tofino, British Columbia, where she spent time alone on the road in the summer of 2021.

Originally from Niagara Falls, Lavinia Lindsay is based in Alberta and primarily focuses on the mezzotint process. Her work commonly includes elements of storytelling and travel, and the scale of her prints often invites the viewer to experience each piece up close. Lavinia’s work is very process-driven, as the act of rocking copper plates puts her mind at ease and helps to ground her creativity. Lavinia received her BA from the University of Guelph in 2019, and was the recipient of the Don Phillips Scholarship at Open Studio in 2019-20
