Collection: Ed Pien

Ed Pien is a Canadian artist based in Toronto, with a career spanning over 40 years. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, he immigrated to Canada at age eleven.

Pien has exhibited widely in Canada and internationally, including venues such as the Drawing Centre (New York), the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), the Art Gallery of Ontario, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Songzhuang Art Centre (Beijing), and the National Gallery of Canada. He has participated in multiple biennales, including Montreal, Sydney, Moscow, Beijing, and Curitiba.

His work is held in major collections including FRAC Lorraine (France), the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, and the Weatherspoon Art Museum (University of North Carolina, Greensboro).

Pien is represented by Birch Contemporary (Toronto), Pierre-François Ouellette Art Contemporain (Montreal), and Galerie Maurits van de Laar (The Hague).
