This workshop explores the evolving and performative nature of drypoint. Participants will create a series of prints from a single copper plate, altering it after each turn through the press to produce a varied edition.
Participants are encouraged to bring in an animation they like or a video they have filmed to inform their creative process.
No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
About the Instructor: Sam Newton’s artistic practice examines the material intricacies of printmaking, drawing connections to ballet and the physical gestures of dance. Her work explores the tension between repetition, resistance, and failure—fundamental aspects of both printmaking and movement-based practices.
