My work explores the worlds of visual arts and music, focusing on the ethos of both counter-culture and historical works. I use and reinterpret classics and other existing materials through the technique of sampling so anyone can see and hear how the original materials were edited and transformed into a new artwork. Looking back at the original source materials, and observing what became of these through my artistic process, one is able to understand how I build my identity. Screen-printing, a method through which I create a modest number of multiples, collage and Hip-Hop music are the mediums I work within, mainly because those three mediums can be produced using only low-tech facilities, and the approaches are easy-going. They are relatively contemporary means of production but they maintain a certain handmade quality and a connection to DIY aesthetics so the conversation with the viewers/listeners remains democratic and casual, yet sophisticated.
